Celebrate Mother’s Day with a memorable seaside escape on the West Coast. This special weekend is designed for moms and daughters to relax, reconnect, and enjoy beautiful coastal experiences together — from beach horse rides and delicious meals to oceanfront accommodation at Strandkombuis.

While the package is designed for two people sharing, dads and other family members are warmly welcome to join the celebration. If some guests would prefer not to participate in the horse riding activities, that is absolutely no problem — we are happy to tailor the experience. Simply send us an enquiry and we will provide a customised quotation based on your group’s preferences.

Please note: This is the last weekend that Strandkombuis will be open before their winter closure, reopening again in September — making this a particularly special opportunity to experience this iconic beachfront venue.

Spaces are very limited and we can accommodate a maximum of 10 riders for the weekend.

Friday | 8 May 2026 – Arrival & Welcome Evening

Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to your beachfront accommodation at Strandkombuis, perfectly situated right on the sand.

After settling in, enjoy a relaxed pizza evening at Strandkombuis, a wonderful way to start the weekend while watching the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean.

Saturday | 9 May 2026 – Horse Safari & Beach Adventure

Begin the day with a delicious breakfast at Strandkombuis overlooking the ocean.

After breakfast, enjoy our Horse Safari & Beach Combo Ride. Normally a 3-hour ride, this experience will be split into two scenic rides with a relaxed lunch break in between, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the views and connect with the horses.

In the evening, gather again for a delightful dinner at Strandkombuis, enjoying the warm atmosphere and West Coast hospitality.

Sunday | 10 May 2026 – Mother’s Day Celebration

Start Mother’s Day with a leisurely breakfast at Strandkombuis.

After breakfast, enjoy a 1.5–2 hour beach ride, taking in the fresh sea air and wide open beaches of the West Coast.

The weekend concludes with a special Mother’s Day Seafood Buffet at Strandkombuis.

Family members are welcome to join the buffet celebration — booking is required.
Additional buffet cost: R475 per person.

Dads and additional family members are welcome — please enquire for rates and availability.

Guests who prefer not to participate in horse riding can still enjoy the weekend; alternative arrangements can be quoted on request.

We are hosting our first overnight trail at our new base. Rondeberg Farms on the R27 West Coast Road. No more long dirt roads to get to us!

Saturday 31 May
9 for 9:30 arrival and check in
10am departure for !Khwa Ttu, ride for 2hrs and then stop for lunch at!Khwa Ttu.
After lunch ride approximately 1.5 -2hrs back to Rondeberg.
Feed horses
Dinner and sleep

Sunday 1 June
Wake up and enjoy coffee and rusks
Feed horses
9:30am depart on 2hr to 2.5hr ride to viewing deck and look out point
Arrive back for brunch
Depart back home
